Halloween "BOO" Craft

My good friend Tiffany came up with the great idea to get together and make these adorable Halloween frames she found online. Here is where she found it online.
I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I went for cheap :)

I bought 3 - 4"x6" frames at the local thrift store (DI) for only $0.75 each.

I first painted them black. I wanted the crackle paint effect, so I painted light grey over the black, then the crackle paint and last another layer of black paint. You can kind of see the crackle a little in the picture above. It didn't crackle as much as I wanted it too, but that's probably because I rushed the whole process. Lucky for me, I already had paint, so I didn't have to buy any.

Next I decided to use chipboard instead of purchasing wood letters. I only had one letter O, so I traced it on chipboard I had and cut out a second O. Again, I have tons of chipboard, so no expense there.

I bought glitter for $1 & 2 sheet of scrapbook paper which was on sale for $0.69 a piece.
I love how it turned out and I'm so glad that I have a friend who sets up such fun events so I can be crafty!

Strips of Fabric

These are the fabrics that I decided to use for the girls' blankets and they are turning out so cute!
I've cut various sizes of strips of all these fabrics and have been sewing them together for quilt tops. Not sure if I'm going to make them into quilts or a duvet covers. Decisions, decisions!

I bet you're just as excited as I am to see the final result ;)

My Newest Work in Progress

I put this up on my wall recently (this picture is of the frames on the floor) and now I'm trying to do a collage of family pictures on the wall around it. I come from a family of 9 and Matthew's family had 6 kids, so we need to fit a lot of pictures on the wall. Not sure how good it will turn out, but I'm excited to see our families on the wall everyday :)

Vinyl lettering was done by my SIL Janel, but you can make your own with a Cricut or a Silhouette.

Newest Aprons

This is the hot pink and black one. My favorite color scheme!

This one I made out of jeans and edged with cute zebra patterned fabric. I didn't put this one on because it fits someone skinnier than me or a teenager. It looked really good on the teenagers I had try it on. I should have gotten a picture of one of them in it.

I love this color scheme too! Brown, purple, pink and light lime green. I added a cute fabric flower to the front of this one.

This one is made with Basic Grey's fabric. Love Basic Grey!

Dream Sign

This sign was already in the girls' room in different colors, but I had to change it when I changed the colors of the girls' room. It's only taken me 4 months to actually get to it. Funny thing because it took me less than an hour to redo the colors. Silly, how I put things off for so long!
