I just love how little she looks in this picture.
This picture reminds me to enjoy her littleness while she's little :)

This was at the Dallas World Aquarium.
We took a weekend trip and went to the Dallas World Aquarium.
It's so fun to take trips with our little family and make memories and build bonds.
We got to see all sorts of beautiful creatures at the aquarium.

And here's an extra photo because I'm sure we missed a day, or two...

This would be one of the reasons that I haven't been posting as much as I should be.
I'm reading the entire Harry Potter series for the first time and even though I've seen all the movies, they're still hard to put down!

Edited Photo (cropped, auto levels, saturated colors)
This photo reminds me that it's okay to take time for me too. After the crazy few weeks I've had with one thing after another to do, I'm glad to sit down and just read a book for fun.

Girls are meant to be girls!

 My Alarm Clock

Getting up in the morning is really hard for me if it's before 9am. Although I get up before 9am every morning, I feel like I don't actually wake up until 9am. Anyway, this is meaningful to me because even though it's hard, I still get up to take care of my girlies. And I'm working on getting up even earlier so I can actually make them a breakfast instead of giving them cereal:) It's not going so well with the baby still waking up 3 times during the night. Well, tomorrow's another day, which means another try:)

Our girls don't usually get Lucky Charms, but we thought it would be fun for St. Patrick's Day to start their morning with a festive treat!

My Dreaded Kitchen Counter!!!

Here's anther project that I tackled on Monday when I was crazy cleaning/organizing woman!

This is THAT kitchen counter, you know the one that everything gets thrown on.
I can't stand to look at it and I have no idea why everything ends up on it.

Another view of the lovely mess.

When I said I was "de-junking" I wasn't joking! This is what it looks like now. You better believe I've been threatening the kids that if they set anything on the counter, they're busted ;) I haven't decided what I want on the counter yet, so that's for another day, but at least it's finally CLEAN!! Maybe now I can get back to sewing and crafting :)

This is our little chick-a-dee getting into her school musical. It's so fun to get to see your kids in different activities and see how they perform. She sure was enjoying it, as did we!

De-Junking the House!

I've been dying to get some organizing done in my house, but I've been so busy with other things that I haven't had the time. I woke up Monday morning and decided that it didn't matter what else I had going on, I was going to clean and organize a few areas of my house.
I better warn you that this looks like an episode of Hoarders, but I swear it's not.
I promise I keep a clean and orderly house, but for some reason this part of our house CAN NOT stay clean.

This is my desk area where I do most everything--can't you tell?
Not too inspiring of an area!

Lucky for me, you can't see this area until you come into my house and go down a level.
It's the first place we enter when we get home, so it's become the "catch-all" area.

It's also the area where my kids books are and anything else they decide to throw on the floor.
Looking at these pictures I took in January (probably on it's dirtiest day), makes me happy I got rid of the entire setup.

I started by clearing everything from the entire area. Then I dismantled the desk and vacuumed the space, including the wall that even had dust on it. You can't see the piles of stuff on the floor that are now waiting for a place to go.

Then I set up these desks that I bought at Ikea back in January. These are Vika Amon table tops with black legs. I think both desks cost me about $116 total, which was an awesome deal for 2, considering one usually costs more than that. See how long it's taken me to get this project done--and I even had everything I needed to get it done. Now I just need to get everything back on the desks and decide how I'm going to organize the area. Already 100% improvement from the previous photos!! That's not all I got done, but I'll save that for another day. And now I need some chocolate!
