Teacher Appreciation Gift
This week was teacher appreciation week & I didn't want the week to pass without making something for my daughter's teacher.
We made the same thing last year for my childrens' teachers & you can see them here.
This year I decided to do rainbow colors & to cut the crayons to fit exactly within the letter.
In the post I created last year there are two other variations on how I cut the crayons.
I like this look because I think it gives it a nice clean look.
I really wanted to do the crayons with an ombre effect using the teacher's favorite colors, but I would have had to purchase way too many boxes of crayons.
I guess I could have just made a smaller letter & used less crayons, but I like this 8" x 10" size.
Now that I've made these two years in a row, my daughter wants her own for her bedroom, so maybe I'll just get to make one ombre style for her bedroom.
I think this would be adorable in a bedroom or nursery.

I love this! Just wondering how you cut your crayons to get them so smooth -especially the angled ones. You did a great job and I really like the clean cut ones best! Thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeleteI used an xacto knife to cut the crayons. If they weren't smooth after the cut, I just shaved off a little more with the xacto knife. Thanks for the visit :)
DeleteOoo, I like this year's version best too. So clever and cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is SO adorable! I love it, beautifully done..Will have to make this for my nephews!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I really love the way these look when they're completed. They are so fun to give as gifts :)

ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute idea for our teachers!! Teachers are the best and we appreciate all they do for children everywhere!!! We are so glad to have you join us for our "Strut Your Stuff Saturday". See you again next week!! -The Sisters
ReplyDeletejust a silly question, did you use regular school glue or a hot glue gun to stick these on?
ReplyDeleteI used a hot glue gun. :)
DeleteI've read that you printed out your letters and that you wasn't to fund of your hand writing. What site did you visit to print your letters? Thanks..
ReplyDeleteI used Microsoft Word on my home computer and just found a block font that I liked & printed it out.
DeleteHi Dacia, what font did you use?
Delete
DeleteThe font I used is Arial Black at about 600 size with no fill. When I printed it on my final cardstock, I printed it the same color as the paper, so it wouldn't show up as much if you saw the lines.
Do you have a mac or pc?
ReplyDeleteI have a PC. :)
