Easter Wreath Tutorial

Today I'm sharing my Easter Wreath.

I found this container of sparkly Easter eggs on sale for $6.99 at Porter's & I knew I just had to make something with them.

I love having a wreath on my front door, so when I saw these I knew they would be perfect for a wreath.

I figured if I cut them in half they would cover more surface & be easier to attach on a wreath.

I used a craft knife and cut all the styrofoam eggs in half.  It's less styrofoam messy if you cut straight through each egg instead of sawing through them.

 

I made my own wreath by tracing a lid on an old foam poster board.  This circle was the center of my wreath.

Before cutting the foam board, I positioned all the eggs on the board to see how wide to cut the circle.

I cut the circle about 2 inches wide with a craft knife, then I painted it white with craft paint.

I positioned all the eggs on the wreath to see what direction I wanted them to face, which order i wanted the colors & if they would all fit.  I was able to fit all the eggs except three on this wreath.

I used a hot glue gun to attach all the eggs to the wreath & I removed a few at a time while I glued them on so that I wouldn't mess up my order or design.

This was a fairly easy project and it could be completed in one day, if you're not like me and have a million projects going at once. :)
