Today was finally the day my daughter got to have her friend birthday party celebration.
Thank goodness because there's been a count down going on in our house and I got to hear about it more than once a day :)
I let her help me decide on the theme and we both agreed to do an Ice Cream theme.
Mostly I suggested it and she agreed. I just really wanted an excuse to make a cute awning, like I have pinned here.
These are cupcakes made in cones & I got the idea from the good 'ol internet.
You can view my pin board for all the inspiration for this party.
Have I mentioned that I love pinterest? It's especially great for this reason--I can plan a party and keep all my ideas for that party on one board.
I made these waffle bowls myself with our pizzelle maker.
I found these cute little cups at the dollar store and they were the perfect size for small servings of toppings for little ones.
I got this sugar cookie design from SugarBelle. Her cookies are way cuter, but I'm happy to say that mine at least look like ice cream cones. I seriously have a whole new respect for you cookie makers!! These cookies took me FOR.EV.ER & I never did get the royal icing consistency right. Good thing I don't make cookies for a living :)
These are the party favors--more cookies & cute ice cream containers filled with goodies. The type on the lid says "Thanks for visiting Kalin's Ice Cream Parlor! Take home a scoop of goodies."
I saw this idea on One Charming Party & I absolutely loved it. I seriously love all you awesome people who share your clever ideas with the rest of us!
The most important thing is how happy this girl is! Happy Birthday my sweet daughter!! FYI: I only throw friend parties every few years, 5, 8, 12, 16... They don't get their first one until I know they'll remember it :) But not to worry, we do celebrate their birthdays every year, just only with the fam. Friend parties are just so much work and I'm not up for doing it 3 times a year. I'm an all or nothing kinda girl, so it's mostly my own fault that it's so much work. Oh well, hopefully this way they'll appreciate them more. Want to see all the inspiration for this party, check out my Kalin's Bday board on pinterest.
